Champions crowned in Western Shoot-out.

The Team Lady Stanleys and the Gilnockie Ruttin' Bucks take the Championship title at the 1st Annual Western Regional Pond Hockey Championships.

The Lady Stanleys, who were a dominant force throughout the women's event, defeated the Kootenay Wild Things in an intense competition Sunday. Trailing at the half, the Lady Stanleys turned up the speed, and went on a scoring streak, earning them the title.

The Men's Championship was a good ole-fashioned shoot out, with the Gilnockie Ruttin' Bucks defeating the Benson Oilers 36-29. The crowd was treated to amazing acts of speed and skill as these teams combined to break the single-game goal scoring record for the Canadian National Pond Hockey Championships.

Congratulations to all teams - it was a heck of a first-year event...
